The individual hired for this role is a seasoned CMC and Technical Operations leader, they offer hands-on expertise in autologous cell therapy, IND development, and operational scale-up within early to mid-stage biotechs. They successfully built technical infrastructure from scratch, overhauled critical regulatory filings, and led analytical and assay development to align with FDA requirements. Their experience includes scaling teams from a handful to dozens, transitioning programs from academic settings into GMP-compliant environments, and driving IND submissions. Comfortable as a sole point of accountability in lean organizations, they balance strategic planning with execution, providing credible oversight across development, manufacturing, analytics, and CDMO relationships, bringing immediate readiness for IND-enabling leadership.
This key technical leader will define and drive a comprehensive CMC strategy that balances in-house manufacturing and CDMO partnerships, they will oversee process development for engineered Treg therapies with an emphasis on robustness, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost control. They will establish and manage a resilient supply chain, assess cost structures and partnerships, and explore alternative manufacturing models, while designing technical roadmaps across short- to long-term horizons. This critical hire will provide operational and regulatory support, spanning FDA, EMA, and global filings for INDs, BLAs, and more, all while building, leading, and mentoring high-performing teams across R&D, clinical, and commercial functions.
